Our Mission

To help associations and professional societies grow membership and increase revenue.

Before founding Blue Bridge in 2008, John Hooley was a squad leader in the Marine Corps infantry. He learned there that the mission is paramount. This value became core to our agency’s culture.

Our mission is to help you grow. We build beautiful websites that are intuitive to members and lightning quick. However, your website has to do a whole lot more than look pretty- it needs to advance your association’s goals.

To do that, we approach your situation from a business point-of-view. We help you identify what will have the most impact, remove risk, and execute a carefully considered plan so that your project produces tangible benefits that you can take to your board.

We specialize in associations but have helped a variety of clients, including Sanofi Aventis, University of Oregon, and the Linux Foundation. Our diverse experience and outsider perspective enables us to avoid status quo thinking and create the best outcome for your Association.

While every project is different, we follow the same process to improve your project’s outcome:

  1. Understand your situation and goals
  2. Establish success criteria
  3. Identify and remove project risk
  4. Collaborate through the life of the project
  5. Measure success against the previously established criteria

Mitchell Trux

Project Manager

Mitchell is a California native and graduate of University of California, Davis. He began his career in the bicycling industry where he learned to create compelling brand and product experiences for companies while also competing as a sponsored athlete in cycling competitions throughout the US and in Europe. While living in San Francisco, he slowed down his racing to get into technology. Now with experience from several start-ups and interaction / user experience design chops, he's living the good life in Portland, managing projects for Blue Bridge, spending quality time with his family and continuing to race his bike.

Nicky Woolf

Web Developer

Nicky grew up in Rockford, Illinois, where in 1999 he built his first website, learning the basics from a couple books. His fascination with computers and compulsive need to sketch eventually led him to central Florida to study Computer Animation at Full Sail University. After several years of creating visual FX for different projects, including a feature length documentary, he gravitated back toward web development. He is always excited to expand his knowledge of PHP programming and on the lookout for creative solutions. In his off hours, Nicky can be found in Woodlawn Park playing ragball (when that Portland sun is out) or enjoying listening to You Made it Weird with a cup of coffee and pipe tobacco (when it's not.)
